I just installed Kenwood KDC- MP242 car stereo…?
I just installed Kenwood KDC- MP242 and after 30 minutes of my music via AUX jack, at volume 30, the sound of the music deteriorates and the music seems to “skip” like a cd player playing a scratched cd. Whats wrong?? Mind you I had to cut my previous wire harness and splice wires.
try checking your connections, are they secure enough? are they butt connected in or just taped together? i suggest butt connecting them and if you did, do a continuity test with a meter to sure you read 0 ohms. if this only happens when the music is turned up then perhaps your speakers are stock and simply cannot take the load. if this is it, either keep the volume low on either the device or radio or get newer speakers. maybe the wire to your aux jack is bad or has a loose connection, maybe the device the music is delivered by has an internal hard drive and maybe is skipping or going bad. troubleshooting is the hardest thing to do in any profession. try all these things to see if aleviated your problem. if not, best of luck
